Radiology
The Radiology Department has seven Registered Radiological Technologists to provide full range Radiology services. These services include standard Radiology procedures performed with a Computerized Radiology (CR) system. The department also offers CT scans, Ultrasound, Bone Densitometry, and now, Digital Mammograpy. Mobile MRI and Nuclear services are also available on a weekly basis.
The new CR system provides faster service to our patients with a filmless environment. This allows the physicians to view images anywhere from a secure computer.
Digital Mammography Now Available!
Recently, the Radiology Department installed a Digital Mammography System. One of the benefits of this new technology include an approximate 28% increase in the detection of abnormalities in some women than the previous film system. Some other benefits include increased patient comfot, shorter exam times, and faster results. The mammograms are reviewed by both a radiologist and a computer-aided detection system which aids the physicians in detecting any abnormalities in the mammogram.
