Respiratory Therapists evaluate, treat and care for people with breathing problems and cardiopulmonary ailments by means of treatments, diagnostics and education. At Tri-County Hospital, Respiratory Therapy services are utilized in patients ranging from premature babies whose lungs are underdeveloped, to elderly people whose lungs have become diseased. Patients whom may require respiratory care include those who have been diagnosed with emphysema, asthma, chronic bronchitis or sleep apnea. Mechanical ventilatory support is provided to patients experiencing respiratory failure. Diagnostic Pulmonary Testing
Respiratory Therapists perform complete inpatient and outpatient pulmonary function testing and cardiac stress testing.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Under the guidance of an ordering physician, Respiratory Therapists monitor patient activity and educaiton regarding the diagnosis, treatment and management of chornic lung disease.
Pulmonologist
Dr. Ganatra from Hastings Pulmonary & Sleep Clinic visits Tri-County Hospital the first Tuesday of every month for the convenience of pulmonary patients. Dr. Ganatra is available to interpret pumonary diagostic studies, including pulmonary function tests, sleep studies and more.
Sleep Lab
Visiting hospital BrynLGH makes sleep studies available to Tri-County Hospital on a monthly basis. The sleep lab helps in diagnosing patients with sleep apena and other sleep related disorders.
Smoking Cessation
Tri-County Hospital is a smoke-free campus. Respiratory Therapists are available to educate and support patients and their families who wish to stop smoking.
